All students under the age of 18 are met by a member of staff (found in bright red branded t-shirts with a red clipboard), who will manage the airport welcome and transfer to their centre. Students receive an ID card with 24-hour emergency contact information for their safety and for easy identification.

Every centre has a dedicated safeguarding officer who students can speak to at any time, and this is typically the Welfare Manager or Centre Manager. All staff members are trained in First Aid, DBS checked, and trained in student welfare and safeguarding. We also require all staff members to provide a minimum of 2 references during their application process.
Risk assessments
Our activity and excursion programme is carefully planned to not only sure fun experiences, but also student safety. All activities and excursions are risk assessed and we have a library of the attractions’ risk assessments in each city we visit. Please contact us if you would like a copy of our risk assessments.
Medical and general insurance
Students who are not covered by the National Health Service (NHS) are advised to obtain their own medical insurance before leaving their home countries. We also strongly advise students to take out personal insurance to cover their belongings, etc. before joining us in the UK, Canada, the USA, or Australia.
Supervision
We define juniors to be anyone under the age of 16 and anyone between the ages of 16 and 18 as part of our residential centres. The Department of Education and Science advises that the supervision ratio of adults to students aged 8-10 as 1:10-15 and for 11+ as 1:15-20. We adhere to these ratios when supervising students on leisure activities.
Students are permitted free time on excursions, but the amount of free time they receive depends on their age:
Individual students
We accept individual students at a number of our centres and pay close attention to their welfare. Individual students are assigned to the care of a Welfare Manager or Individuals Coordinator, who will be responsible for their wellbeing during their stay. Where possible, we try to accommodate individual students in shared bedrooms but when this is not possible, we place students on the Staff corridor.
We require parental consent for all students under the age of 18. View our parental consent form here.
